Cevin (pronounced “Kevin”) Ormond, The Master of Self-Leadership, brings a tremendous breadth of experience that he’s able to use to connect with his audience. In fact, that’s what he’s best at — quickly finding the common ground to connect with anyone anywhere.
Once that connection is created he has the unique ability to take complicated issues, quickly reduce them to their critical components, and communicate them so others can easily understand and apply them. He makes the complex simple and is passionate about creating and sharing life-changing experiences and ideas with as many people as possible.
You might be wondering – so how did a kid from a little, hick town learn all this stuff? Cevin has sometimes wondered that himself!
First of all, he’s the oldest of 10 children, father of eight, grandfather of 27 (he’s a really young grandfather – he just has a large family), a veteran, a cancer survivor, and has traveled over 4 million miles so he has a REAL education in addition to his formal education (BSEE, MBA).
After all, there really is not substitute for experience … the only people who think there is a substitute for experience are the ones with no experience!
Second, over the last 26 years Cevin has spoken to, trained, and coached over 300,000 people in 10 countries and territories. That’s a lot of travel! (over 4 million miles!) It’s also a lot of experience with people, organizations, and cultures.
What that has taught him is that everything, good or bad, boils down to leadership (good or bad!), that leadership is a spontaneous act not a positional one (how many poor leaders do you know that are in “Leadership Positions?), that leadership can always be improved if a person chooses to do so, and that self-leadership is the core skill. After all, if you can’t lead yourself how can you ever expect to lead others successfully?
Now he brings the benefits of all that experience to you – Hence, this book.
He decided last year, after recovering from cancer and some other health challenges (A-OK now), to take his wisdom, experience, skills, and knowledge to a bigger audience and help them as only he is able to … by sharing himself and what he brings in a more expansive way with his speaking, training, coaching, and now, his writing.
This is his first book but, because he has so much to offer, you can bet it won’t be his last!
